United Medical Center (UMC) Domestic Violence Intake Center

Did you know that the United Medical Center (UMC) has a Domestic Violence Intake Center (DVIC) located in Ward Eight at 1328 Southern Ave., SE, DC 20032, Suite #311,  The center handles initial filings for Temporary Protection Orders (TPOs) and motions and provides counseling and social service assistance to victims. UMC processes Temporary Protection Orders (two week orders) via teleconferencing.

The DVIC provides a single access point for victims of domestic violence by conducting intake evaluations, providing counseling, safety planning, assisting victims in drafting pleadings and other documents necessary for acquisition of protective orders and free legal representation.

The Domestic Violence Intake Centers are open Monday through Friday, (except holidays) between 8 am–4 pm.
